Hearing the wood grow

This painting is part of the “The Sounds of the Woods” series.

I express the sounds of the forest, of the trunk moving, of the bark cracking, of the vegetation deconstructing and groaning.

Using brisk movements and in light layers, I apply the acrylic paint and walnut husk to the fabric. The cannetille and the threads crisscross these areas, swarming. The clarity of the metal meets the darkness of the pictorial layers.
